The 10-Day Therapeutic Field
A structured immersion in nature, health, and human regulation.
The 10-Day Therapeutic Field Lab is a structured, nature-based clinical experience designed to help individuals step outside the environmental patterns of everyday life and enter a carefully designed therapeutic setting where nature, clinical care, movement, relationships, and measurable health outcomes work together.
Rather than treating the environment as simply a backdrop to therapy, the Therapeutic Field Lab makes the environment an intentional component of the intervention.
For ten days, participants engage in a personalized program of clinical assessment, nature exposure, movement, reflection, social connection, and health-supporting routines. The experience is designed to create the conditions for physiological, psychological, behavioral, and relational regulation while helping participants develop skills they can carry back into everyday life.
Therapeutic Experience in Nature
Health is influenced by more than symptoms or diagnoses. Sleep, stress, movement, relationships, environment, behavior, and daily routines can all interact with the way a person experiences and manages their health.
The Therapeutic Field Lab brings these factors together within a structured environment.
The experience is intentionally designed around an individualized therapeutic plan, with activities and interventions selected according to their needs, goals, and clinical considerations.
The Therapeutic Field integrates:
Clinical care — individualized assessment and therapeutic interventions
Nature exposure — intentional interaction with natural environments
Movement — appropriately dosed physical activity and outdoor movement
Physiological regulation — practices supporting sleep, stress regulation, cardiovascular health, and autonomic balance
Psychological regulation — therapeutic work addressing emotional and behavioral patterns
Relational health — exploration of interpersonal and family-system patterns
Behavioral change — repeated practice of sustainable health behaviors
Measurement — tracking meaningful outcomes before, during, and after the experience
Ten Days.
The ten-day experience follows a progressive structure.
Days 1–2 | Arrival & Decompression
Participants complete orientation, clinical assessment, baseline measures, and transition into the therapeutic environment.
Days 3–4 | Regulation & Connection
The focus shifts toward establishing healthy rhythms, reducing environmental stressors, connecting with nature, and developing awareness of physiological and emotional responses.
Days 5–6 | Movement & Integration
Participants engage in appropriately dosed outdoor activity and therapeutic experiences designed to connect physical activity, psychological wellbeing, and environmental exposure.
Days 7–8 | Repatterning & Self-Direction
Participants practice new behavioral, emotional, and relational responses while developing greater capacity for self-regulation and independent health management.
Days 9–10 | Transfer & Re-Entry
The final phase focuses on translating what was learned into everyday life. Participants review outcomes, identify ongoing needs, and develop an individualized plan for continuing progress beyond the Therapeutic Field.
Environment First. Biology Second.
The Therapeutic Field Lab reflects the philosophy of Value-Based Outdoor Healthcare℠: that the environments in which people live, move, work, recover, and relate can be important contributors to health.
By intentionally changing the environment while providing structured therapeutic care, the program creates an opportunity to observe how changes in environment, behavior, physiology, and wellbeing interact.
The goal is not simply to provide an experience in nature.
The goal is to create a measurable therapeutic environment.
From Experience to Long-Term Change
The ten-day field lab is designed as an intensive phase within a broader continuum of care.
Assess → Immerse → Regulate → Practice → Measure → Integrate → Continue
Following the ten-day experience, participants may transition into continued outpatient services, therapeutic programming, health coaching, nature-based interventions, or other appropriate care based on their individual needs.
The Therapeutic Field Lab is designed as a bridge between intensive therapeutic intervention and sustainable everyday health.
